Blossoming Speech Therapy is a paediatric speech pathology practice providing personalised therapy services in speech and literacy to school aged children (Years K-6, 5-12 years) in the Upper Blue Mountains area, from Blackheath to Wentworth Falls.

About

Meet Monique!

Monique is the owner and manager of Blossoming Speech Therapy. She is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) and a practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia (MSPA) with a passion for working with children to achieve their communication goals.

Monique has worked as a Speech Pathologist for the past 4 years in a private practice setting. She has an passion for working with children who have speech delays, expressive/receptive language delay or literacy difficulties.

Monique holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree (BSpPath) from Australian Catholic University (ACU), and has completed various training in the areas of speech, language and literacy.

When Monique is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and fur babies, going for walks with her dog, Phoebe, camping, or reading a good book.

Speech

Speech is how your child produces sounds and words so others can understand them. If they have difficulty pronouncing certain sounds, speaking clearly or being understood by others, they may have a speech delay or disorder. Speech therapy can help them learn to produce sounds correctly, improve their clarity and build confidence in their communication.

Literacy - Reading

Reading is an essential part of literacy, and some children may struggle with recognizing letters, sounding out words, or understanding what they read. Speech therapy can help improve these skills by strengthening phonological awareness and reading fluency, making reading easier and more enjoyable.

Literacy - Spelling

Spelling is another key aspect of literacy that can be challenging for some children. Speech therapy targets skills like sound-letter relationships, word patterns, and writing structure to support spelling development. By improving these areas, speech therapy helps boost your child's confidence and enjoyment of learning.

Funding

Medicare

Rebates for Speech Pathology sessions are available to those with a Chronic Disease Management Program (CDMP). Your GP may deem you eligible for this plan, which allows up to 5 partially subsidised speech pathology treatment sessions within a calendar year. For more information on this plan, contact your GP to discuss eligibility for this program.

At Blossoming Speech Therapy, we are currently only seeing Self Managed or Plan Managed NDIS clients.

Private Health

If your Private Health Insurance has 'extras' cover, you may be eligible for a rebate on Speech Pathology sessions. Speak with your private health fund to determine your eligibility for rebates for speech pathology services.

*Please note, all sessions will be invoiced, and a receipt issued upon receipt of payment, which can then be used to make a claim with your private health fund, Medicare or your NDIS fund.
